CLASS OF ’79 are one of the UK’s most exciting and entertaining Punk , New Wave & Ska tribute bands to date, but what makes them unique from the rest? For a start every member has a punk rock royalty pedigree having been in or still in some of the legendary bands that shaped the punk and new wave movement namely Rezillos, Eddie & the Hot Rods, UK Subs, Selecter and Department S. Also, unlike the mainstream tribute bands who pay tribute to a particular artist, Class of 79 pay tribute to an era. Featuring the biggest hits from their own associated bands’ catalogue they back it up with tracks that are the sound tracks of your lives!
Opening the night will be Those… Damned Ruts! who celebrate the music of the Damned and Ruts. They’ll be bringing you songs from the earlier albums from each band: Damned, Damned, Damned and Machine Gun Etiquette by the Damned, The Crack and Grin & Bare It by the Ruts.

XSLF are back in 2026 for their fifth year at the B2, and if the last four are anything to go by it will be another night of mayhem bought to you by Stiff Little Fingers’ founding member Henry Cluney and his band. They’ll bring you a set of the classics from SLF’s first three albums (and maybe one or two from their own albums too), all played with the power and passion that saw Henry Cluney (as part of SLF) explode onto the scene in 1977.
Supporting XSLF, and they themselves celebrating 20-years as a band this year, are local cover band The Punktures. They’ll bring you a set of punk classics (excluding those from SLF of course) that every punk fan would have grown to love over punk’s own 50-years.
Opening the night, and making their debut as a gigging duo, are Beef & Onions who describe themselves as ‘acoustic lounge punk’. Two very experienced musicians from local punk/ska/2tone bands, Beef & Onions will bring you their own versions of punk classics (and possibly the odd ska and 2tone number) as they kick the night off in a slightly more relaxed way.
